Considered one of the greatest runners in history, Haile Gebrselassie has victories and world records in almost every long-distance and middle-distance event. He fuels his runs with teff. With its roots in Ethiopia where it’s been a dietary staple for centuries, teff is now gaining global recognition for its nutritional benefits.

Enter The Teff Creations Company.

Their first consumer product is their Teff Superblend Bites. Four years in the making, these nutritionally-dense, all-natural snacks fuse innovation with tradition.

Teff Superblend Bites deliver an all-natural, high-quality source of slowly digested carbohydrates, fibre to support gut health, and micronutrients such as iron, manganese and phosphorus.

TTCC’s Bites are baked in their own UK-based factory, and their ingredients are sustainably and responsibly sourced to amplify impact across the supply chain.

In addition, they partner with the charity, Ethiopiaid, to support a street feeding programme in Addis Ababa run by Hop Enterprises.

The Teff Creations Company (TTCC) approached Edge Creations fuelled by a profound passion for the teff grain and a commitment to improving the quality of snacks available on the market. With an ethos echoing our own, TTCC was not just in the business of crafting high quality snacks, but committed to enriching lives, respecting the environment, and driving meaningful impact aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.


Their primary product, the Teff Superblend Bites, was years in the making. These travel-friendly snacks blend the nutrient-dense advantages of teff with natural ingredients to offer high fibre, sustained energy, and gut health support. TTCC’s hands-on approach to in-house manufacturing ensured the highest levels of quality control.

With a shared vision of championing scientifically validated health products and a commitment to ethical and sustainable practices, together we embarked on a journey to elevate TTCC’s status as the frontrunner in the teff snack sector.

The Challenge

At the core of our partnership with TTCC was a multi-faceted challenge: unveiling the marvel of teff to a largely unaware market. While teff boasted impressive nutritional attributes, its relative obscurity meant that many potential consumers had yet to recognise its value.

Furthermore, teff’s distinct properties make it notably challenging to incorporate into consumable products. This is due to its unique composition and behaviour during food processing. Yet, TTCC had managed to crack the code with their Teff Superblend Bites. This feat in itself was a testament to their commitment and innovation.

However, the road ahead wasn’t simply about introducing teff. It was about crafting an authentic, science-driven narrative that steered clear of overhyping or making unsubstantiated claims. The narrative would need to accurately enlighten consumers on both the grain's inherent benefits and the added value packed into TTCC’s Superblend Bites.

And while establishing TTCC as the leading authority in the teff market was paramount, the vision was even bolder. TTCC aspired to stand toe-to-toe with heavyweights in the broader snack sector. Their goal? To not just be different, but to be undeniably better. It was about defining a unique market space where TTCC wasn’t merely an alternative, but a premier choice for those in the know.
